Hey all,
The deed is done!
On the 10th December 2016 I had my hair cut for charity:
After years of procrastination and persuasion, I finally decided to cut my hair off for charity!
I last went to the barbers when I was fifteen (so about 10 years ago then!) and it feels a bit bizarre but I’m so pleased with the way it turned out.
I will sell the ponytail and donate any proceeds to my chosen charity – Demelza children’s hospice:
I’m hoping the money will go towards giving the children there a few extra presents for Christmas.
THANK YOU to everyone who has donated! (Donations will be accepted until January).
Sometime in January 2017, I’ll complete the donation and list the final figure. There’s still time to donate if you so desire. You can do so on my Virginmoneygiving page.
Update January 2017:
£350 raised!
Next step: Sending the final cheque to Demelza and telling the local newspaper.
Here’s the vid that was expertly shot and edited by the barbers’ son, James. Enjoy!
(Note Dec 2016: If you can’t see the vid, it’s because you’re seeing it from Facebook and the film maker is getting this fixed but in the meantime you can still watch it from your favourite browser.
Here are the pics:
Extra special thanks go to Sarah Papper (Find her Home Hairdressing page on Facebook. If you know someone who needs their hair cut in the Canterbury or surrounding area, get in touch with Sarah – she’s fully qualified and brilliant) for the exquisite styling and to James for the filming and editing of the vid.
A massive humble THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, your generosity made this whole thing a lot more fun and worth-while.
By the way, if anyone has any hair styling tips do let me know! 🙂
